I want to tell you about the spotted owl we got to be with through her last hours of living; of all the gifts she blessed us with through her passage, about the tiny snake who guards our coast home and comes out to greet us when we arrive, about the salamanders and the roar of the King tides, the sweetness of the mist that rises off the lake, and then the pinks of sunrise here at PrayerFarm most every morning… but I can’t.
The bounty of magical moments, joys, and mysteries I’ve experienced over this few weeks of rest and family time has me somewhat speechless and in the slow winter mode of digestion… it’s New Year’s Day and most of us are projecting ourselves into the future — together we are dreaming of the better world we came here to steward in… but I am going to stay right here like a small child surrounded by a Christmas morning bounty…and just take in, enjoy, and look for the place in my heart for each wonderfulness. So, for today a wish; no matter how busy, exhausted, overwhelmed, or faith-lost you ever are, may you also remember what is good and right and truly fine and use it to settle the troubles and stimulate the YES to Life’s call.
On that note, I hope you will hear the call to come on up to PrayerFarm to sit in community, do the work of these times, and to bring your force, vulnerability, and tenderness into this safe and sacred space. We gather next on Saturday, January 6th @11am! XX
