Almas Way

Alma’s Way | A Coastal Retreat in Port Orford, Oregon

Dear Friends and Family,

With joy, I have prepared our magical home away from home for sharing… Alma’s Way is a stunning 1+ acre gem on the wild Oregon Coast just a short walk through magical forest to Paradise Point State Park and a short bike ride into the sweet town of Port Orford.

We have kayaks, bikes, and other play enhancing toys to share and great ideas about how to maximize your enjoyment of your time here.

With all of our spaces we ask that you offer the care and respect, management of resources, and thoughtful usage that we do—be careful about water and sand, don’t waste water or electricity, consider our neighbors and additional noise, if something breaks, fix it, replace it, discuss it.

We also ask that you not put anything into our septic system that could harm the water or plant life—no chemicals, fragrances, weird stuff please—if you need products to be provided, we are very happy to do this to protect our precious natural environment.

We do not have Wi-Fi on the property but can help you access internet if needed—we do encourage a rest from technology while you are here.

We are always working on land projects and would welcome a contribution of some minutes or hours to a project if this kind of giving back inspires you.

We also are up for trades for many kinds for projects or needs we have on both properties Port Orford and Ashland — reach out if you have a creative idea or inspiration!

Main House @Alma’s Way, our private home, is 2-bedrooms with double story picture windows, 1 queen in a private room with half bath, 2 twins in a private room and 1 twin in the open loft space, ocean wave sounds and small peek-a-boo ocean views, woodstove heating, 1 full bath on main level, it’s a truly lovely, comfortable, space with well stocked galley kitchen, [CD1] games, instruments and an incredible nature surround. We are happy to thoughtfully share our home space and it will look and feel like our home space; this is not for rent outside of a friends and friends of friends circle. We ask that folks bring their own linens, towels etc *and use this space as if it were your own home. If you are bringing small children or unruly animals, know that this a not a child/wild-proofed space. If this will be a problem, please choose The Bunkhouse or Cuckoo’s Nest as they are more indestructible. *for very special occasions we can arrange for all of this to be taken care of for an extra cost.

Cuckoo’s Nest (NOT AVAILABLE UNTIL AFTER May 31st 2024—but available for summer ’24 reservations) is a truly beautiful, unique, and special studio apartment above the garage with a wonderful treehouse feeling, a stunning bathroom with handmade tiles and a giant soaking tub, wood floors and a queen, a king and a twin bed and a well-stocked kitchenette. We ask that folks bring their own linens, towels etc* and treat this space like your own home. Dogs and children welcome *for very special occasions we can arrange for all of this to be taken care of for an extra cost.

The Bunkhouse is a fun hostel environment (could not help the pun) with a communal kitchen space, “outhouse” style half bath with a hot and cold outside shower, woodstove coming soon, and shared sleeping spaces for 1 pair in the loft and 3 singles on the sleeping benches. This is a beautiful, bright, and cozy space for folks open to sharing with other humans for a night or two–or the whole space can be claimed if you prefer. There are no sheets, towels or linens provided.
